ModuleWorks, supplier of CAD/CAM software components, and Energid, software supplier for cooperative and high-axis robotic systems, have extended their partnership. The two companies already supply CAM developers with solutions for subtractive and additive robotic manufacturing and are now extending and intensifying this cooperation to accelerate the development of automated, customized workflows for robotic manufacturing.
“Energid is a recognized expert for ultrafast kinematics solutions. Together, we want to bring robotics toolpath planning to the next level. Robot programming should become standard and no longer a niche application in manufacturing processes.”
Lothar Glasmacher, Head of Additive & Process Technologies at ModuleWorks
The cooperation combines the functionality of the Energid Actin software for complex kinematic scenarios with the latest ModuleWorks toolpath calculation algorithms, 3D simulation and NC-code post-processing software. The combined software generates high-performance, collision-free toolpaths with minimal operator intervention for highly automated and efficient manufacturing. Automatic collision avoidance and path planning for more than 6-axes is built into the ModuleWorks APIs for simplified integration and fast development of complex robot-assisted additive, welding and dispensing solutions with automatic NC-code posting.
“Energid’s long relationship with ModuleWorks has enabled the implementation of powerful, individualized solutions for customers in a very short time. We’re excited to extend our partnership and look forward to future projects using our combined technologies to meet customers evolving requirements”.
Neil Tardella, President of Energid
